Gin List

My second choice of tipple, so many choices to try out and with the various tonics available these days it can make anything taste great

ImageNameCountryStrength
3 Pugs Blackcurrant

Pugs and gin. Two things which continue to rise in popularity with no end in sight, just like salted caramel and Hugh Laurie. However, those folks behind this gin have intertwined the allure of gin and awesomeness of pugs in a marvellous way with their 3 Pugs Gin (which reminds me to pitch my idea for Hugh Laurie-shaped salted caramel brownies to any potential buyers). In fact, it's proved so popular that they've even expanded the range and created their own blackcurrant variation!
England40
55 Above Lemon

The folks behind 55 Above have created a limited edition gin liqueur with a focus on the fantastic freshness of lemon! Expect a full-on citrus explosion, backed up by plenty of juniper-y goodness...
Scotland25
55 Above Orange

Distilled in the same traditional copper pots as the 55 Above artisan vodkas, and with the usual, meticulous care; 55 Above orange gin is a truly zesty experience! Mixing the natural juniper flavour of gin with a selection of lush botanicals – including tangerine, Seville orange and lemon zests, coriander, bay leaf, and macadamia nuts – this drink packs a charming citrusy hit.
Scotland40
55 Above Orange 42

A citrus-forward (specifically orange) gin from 55 Above, dubbed Orange 42! The zesty spirit combines both tangerines and Seville orange peel. We reckon a herbaceous tonic will do this one very well, garnished with a sprig of rosemary.
Scotland42
55 Above Original

55 Above orange gin is a truly zesty experience! Mixing the natural juniper flavours of gin with a selection of lush botanicals
Scotland40
55 Above Rhubarb

A limited edition gin and rhubarb liqueur from 55 Above, presented with a label that wouldn't look out of place beside the vibrant, angular designs of the 1980s. The flavour is much more modern, however, taking full advantage of rhubarb's surging popularity by packing it to the brim with deliciousness associated with the herbaceous perennial.
Scotland25
Amass Dry Los Angeles

The gin has a bright and fresh nose, with plenty of fresh citrus. The taste is supported by spicy notes of cardamom and herbal notes from the California Bay, ending in a spicy, peppery finish with earthy undertones of mushrooms and Long Pepper.
United States45
Aviation American

Founded in 2006, Aviation gin takes its name from the Aviation cocktail, which was created in the 1900s. The gin takes a Dutch style rye spirit base combined with with juniper, lavender, anise, sarsaparilla, orange peel and cardamom, and the botanicals are steeped in grain spirit for 48 hours before they are redistilled. A pretty intriguing tipple, with a very handsome Gatsby-esque bottle.
United States42
Bathtub

Very high quality copper pot-still spirit is infused with ingredients including juniper, orange peel, coriander, cassia, cloves and cardamom, with the length of the compounding period controlled entirely by periodic sampling.

The result is an extraordinary gin, lightly tinted by the botanicals, and with a flavour which is both bold, and perfumed all at once.
England43.3
Black Tomato

Produced in the Netherlands, Black Tomato Gin is made using black tomatoes as well as a few drops of sea water! Shows off a fascinating balance between sweet and savoury flavours - and ought to be excellent in a Red Snapper.
Netherlands42.3
Blackfriars Plymouth

A long-standing favourite tipple, Plymouth Gin was one of the few gins to have a geographic indication, obviously pertaining to its eponymous city. However, Plymouth Gin lost this indication in 2015, although it is still of course produced in the city. This is the original gin from the distillery, crafted from seven botanicals in a pot still with a rather short neck, and is blended with Dartmoor water. It is then bottled into the classic ‘shaving bottle’, with its distinctive green glass.
England41.2
Brecon

A Welsh gin made at the famous whisky distillery, Penderyn. This is flavoured with Juniper from Macedonia, orange peel from Spain, Chinese cassia bark, Sri Lankan liquorice, Madagascan cinnamon, French angelica root, Russian coriander, Indian nutmeg, Spanish lemon peel and Italian orris root. Very tasty indeed.
Wales43
Brooklyn

Brooklyn Gin is a rather vibrant gin from New York, made by three chaps using 'hand-cracked' juniper and fresh citrus peels (rather than frozen or dried peels). With big, well-rounded notes of citrus at its core, this works excellently in fruit-forward, lip-smacking cocktails.
United States40
Caorunn 1824

A small batch Scottish gin from the Balmenach distillery in Speyside. Caorunn (pronounced ka-roon), made with a combination of traditional and handpicked botanicals including rowan berry, heather, coul blush apple and dandelion.
Scotland41.8

Discover our Delirium Gin, created in celebration of 30 years of Delirium. Distilled from Delirium Tremens beer, by Rubbens distillery. This unique tasting gin is a must have in your collection. The bottle is shaped like one of our Brew kettles, 700ml , 42%
Belgium42.5
Dr Eamers prescription strength dry

A rather punchy expression here from Dr Eamers' Emporium, dubbed Prescription Strength Dry Gin in keeping with the apothecary theme! It boasts the same botanical list as the original Dry Gin, including lemon thyme and Tellicherry pepper (a type of peppercorn), though it's bottled at the higher strength of 57% ABV. A top choice for cocktails!
England57
Drumshanbo gunpowder Irish

An Irish gin from made with juniper, angelica, orris, caraway, coriander, meadowsweet, cardamom and star anise as well as vapour infused oriental lemon and lime, fresh grapefruit and gunpowder tea! It's produced at The Shed Distillery, who are also making their own Irish pot still and single malt whiskeys.
Ireland43
English spirit rhubarb

Those English Spirit Distillery has taken English rhubarb, distilled, macerated and sous-vide (vacuum-sealed and slow cooked) it alongside its very own gin! The tangy vegetable (yes, rhubarb is one of those) adds a fabulous tartness to the liqueur, so works very well accompanied by tonic and a thick slice of fresh ginger.
England22
Gin Mare

Mediterranean gin distilled in a thirteenth century chapel in an ancient fishing village where every bottle is unique as every year the star product, arbequina olive, changes acidity. Gin Mare is made with a variety of botanicals including rosemary, thyme, basil with lots of zest. This stuff can easily be paired with a vast range of foods and ingredients if you fancy it.
Italy42.7
Ginato pompelmo classic

Ginato Pompelmo Gin combines gin with bright, fruit-forward deliciousness. The Pompelmo expression, for example, brings together the peel of sun-ripened Sicilian pink grapefruit with Italian Sangiovese grapes! Just perfect for a Gin Tonica.
Italy43
Henricks Lunar

The moon doesn't simply just keep our tides working and act as a place to harvest cheese once we've run out. It's helped to influence all manner of people to create excellent things, from music and paintings, myths and legends, and even gin it seems! Inspired by a moonlit evening tending botanicals in the hothouse, Hendrick's master distiller Lesley Gracie has made Lunar Gin, a warming, spicy expression well suited to sipping while in the evening. Subtle peppery sparks, fragrant citrus oils and floral wafts abound here.

Inveroche Amber

Made in the same way as Inverroche's Verdant Gin, except this time the Fynbos botanicals from the Cape Floral Kingdom used are from coastal areas as opposed to the mountainous region. These South African botanicals are used during distillation (using the vapour infusion method) and a subsequent infusion with the coastal botanicals providing a much darker hue as well as a different flavour profile.
South Africa43
Inveroche Verdant

A South African gin with a handsome tint that comes from infusion with "late summer blooms" after distillation. The blooms in question are from the local Fynbos from the mountainous region of the Cape Floral Kingdom! Sounds magical, right? Doesn't taste too bad either! Gin Foundry recommend using this in a refreshing punch, which sounds fantastic.
South Africa43
Isle of Harris

Isle of Harris Gin is made on the eponymous Outer Hebrides island, using a selection of nine botanicals, including sustainably harvested sugar kelp from local sea-lochs. This imparts a subtly coastal, maritime quality to the gin, which also features juniper, angelica, cassia, coriander, cubeb, liquorice root, orange peel, and orris root. The bottle is also a sight to behold, evoking the ripples of the sea.

Malfy Scicilian blood orange

The Malfy Gin range showcases all sorts of terrific citrus deliciousness, and the Con Arancia is all about Sicilian blood oranges! A bright, vibrant Italian gin, with the Sicilian blood oranges bringing plenty of juicy, sweet, refreshing notes to the table. Ought to be ideal for enjoying in a Gin Tonica with lots of fresh fruit for garnish. We could also see a Negroni made with this stuff doing very well, if you're particularly keen on introducing intense orange notes to the classic serve.
Italy41
Mombasa club strawberry edition

This is a sweet, juicy variation on the Mombasa Club Gin recipe, now featuring strawberries at its core! Perfect for the summer months - pour over ice with plenty of tonic water and a few fresh berries for good measure...
England37.5
Monkey 47

An unusual gin from the Black Forest in Germany, Monkey 47 contains a unique ingredient. No, not that! Lingonberries! The 47 comes from the number of botanicals that go into this unique gin, and the fact it's bottled at a healthy 47%. It seems that the botanicals speak for themselves, as the gin has received bucketfuls of critical acclaim. Some say less is more, not for Monkey 47!
Germany47

MIX WITH: Prepare your No.1 Fairham Gin juniper glass with a handful of ice, pour a 50ml measure and mix with Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic. Go without garnish to experience the full flavour or finish with a fresh slice of grapefruit or orange if you prefer.
England45
Nordes Atlantic Galician

Nordés Atlantic Galician Gin is a rather intriguing Spanish gin made with an Albariño-grape-based spirit, rather than your more commonly seen grain-based spirit, along with 11 botanicals, including 6 local ones from Galicia such as eucalyptus, lemon verbena and samphire, which gives the gin a complex maritime quality. The result is a bold flavour profile that would befit summer drinks and cocktails. The bottle is quite stylish too - very impressive stuff!

A wonderfully presented dry gin from Sunderland that features Persian lime as part of its botanical selection.
England43.2
Portobello No171 London Dry

This gin was released by the award-winning Notting Hill bar, Portobello Star, home of the Ginsitute. This is a place where one can learn an awful lot about gin, so you would expect Portobello Road No. 171 to be rather good, and indeed it is. It's an old-style London Dry Gin, containing traditional botanicals and spices, that harks back to the gins of yesteryear.

Rock Rose Autumn Edition

Rock Rose Pink grapefruit

A refreshing variation on Old Tom gin from Scotland's Rock Rose, utilising the deliciousness of pink grapefruit! Organic pink grapefruits are peeled by hand, and the peel goes in to the botanical basket alongside the supporting botanicals for distillation. A touch of muscovado sugar is added afterwards, bringing that familiar Old Tom sweetness to the fore.
Scotland41.5
Rock Rose Summer Edition

The concept of Rock Rose Summer Edition was to create a citrusy gin using botanicals from the Dunnet Bay distillery's garden instead of any actual citrus peels. After a year of planning, these included meadowsweet, elderflower, lemon balm, clover, lemon thyme and pineapple sage, and the result was really rather good indeed!
Scotland41.5

When Liverpudlians visited the Wirral in Edwardian times, they often referred to the area as the 'dark side' of the Mersey. The locals, in turn, would call these daytrippers 'nose baggers'! To create this exciting gin, The Wrecking Coast distillery in Tintagel macerate 12 botanicals in grain spirit for a fortnight before running through a computer controlled iStill (no, really). Meanwhile, the signature botanical, Cornish clotted cream, is cold distilled in a vacuum still before the two spirits are blended together!

Though clotted cream adds a creamy depth to the spirit, the prominent flavours are of wonderful garden-y floral notes and peppery spice. Recommended serves are either neat over ice or with tonic, strawberries and lime.
